Police intervened approximately fifteen minutes into the Black Lives Matter Protest march outside the US embassy in Barbados. They told organizers that permission had been withdrawn since according to them the march was illegal since permission was given for ten person whereas there appeared to be in excess of one hundred persons gathered.

The event organized by president of the Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration (CMPI) David Denny and attorney-at-law Lalu Hanuman sought to bring awareness of the killing of a black American man, George Floyd who died when a policeman knelt of the neck for approximately eight minutes

Standing in a sharp rain shower, protestors dressed mainly in black carried placards and chanted “I cant breathe” significant as the last words uttered by the dying man whose death has sparked protest across the world.

Mr Floyd’s killing is but one of a long series of police violence against black men in the U. S. A and has led to protests worldwide.
