Minister of Housing, Lands and Rural Development, William Duguid, today broke ground at Parish Land, St. Philip, to start road construction at one of the sites earmarked by Government for the relocation of Rock Hall residents.

According to Minister Duguid, the site would provide the first 20 lots for the housing programme.

He added that another site in the area “Concordia Gardens” would be developed simultaneously to accommodate the entire relocation process, as planning permission had been sought and approved for the lots and the road.

Mr. Duguid stressed that the programme would provide an opportunity for those being relocated to have a more stable environment with better surroundings.

He stated that his aim is to obtain 500 housing solutions, and he is willing and ready to put in the work.

The Housing Minister said more lots would be made available for sale at Deanstown Heights, St. James, and Todds, St. George, where the housing solutions will range from land only, to land and houses, to apartment blocks.
