The Bridge Authority members introduced

NASSAU, The Bahamas – The Hon. Alfred Sears, Minister of Works and Utilities, introduced the members of the Bridge Authority committee which has responsibility for managing the Paradise Island Bridge and any other bridge under its purview, Tuesday, December 7 at the Ministry of Works and Utilities.

The members are: Basil Longley, chairperson; Arnold Bain, deputy chairperson and members: Orita Stubbs, Hartley Wilkinson, Lorraine Johnson-Berry, Charles Colebrooke, Leroy Archer, Jr. and Paul Smith.

Mr. Longley thanked Minister Sears and the government for the opportunity to serve on the board. He said the board is made up of financial, construction, maintenance and technology backgrounds to form a formidable group that can deliver on the mandate of the government.

He expressed confidence that the board is able to achieve its intention to move the bridge authority from where it is today to new and greater heights.

Paradise Island is an island in the Bahamas formerly known as Hog Island. The island, with an area of 277 hectares, is located just off the shore of the city of Nassau, which is itself located on the northern edge of the island of New Providence. It is best known for the sprawling resort Atlantis with its extensive water park rides, pools, beach, restaurants, walk-in aquarium and casinos.
