Guyana Celebrates bitter sweet in Barbados.

The Consul General of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Mrs. Geneva Ross-Tyndall; held a Cocktail Reception last night, Thursday 25th May 2023. It was originally planned to celebrate Guyana’s 57th Independence Anniversary, but it was transformed to include an evening dedicated to honoring the 19 students who tragically lost their lives in the fire at the Mahdia Secondary School dormitory, as well as the survivors, their families, and our nation.

During the event, a condolences book was made available for those who wish to sign.

Diplomats and many representing overseas Governments were present to show support for the grieving Nation as well as to celebrate the 57 years as an independent Nation.
