BARBADOS: Report on Venezuela Elections.

The Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration invited on Wednesday 16th December 2020 at 11:00 am the News Media to a Press Conference at the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hastings, Christ Church, Barbados and Mr. David Denny the General Secretary for the Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration.

Mr. David Denny the General Secretary for the Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration and who was an International Observer for the Venezuelan National Assembly Election on Sunday 6th December 2020 addressed the Press Conference on his findings during the election in Venezuela. Mr. Denny was also part of a delegation that included the participation of members from the World Peace Council and an International Observing Team that visited Venezuela from the 3rd until the 8th December 2020 to witness the election in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. A representative from the Embassy of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela also addressed the Press Conference. Mr David Denny said that the voter turnout was very low at 31%. However the voting was very peaceul without any incidents and the African community also came out to cast their vote. The vast delegation present as observers visited several communities and was able to speak reely with persons that lived in them. They all displayed an air of happiness. Sveral polling stations was visited and they witnessed an Electorial Process that was truly Democratic. And he repeated that it was free of any violence or confusion. He reiterated that it was time that Venezuela was recognised as a Sovereign State by the USA. The Delegation was able to witness the counting of the votes. This was truly a very Democratic process. Among the large delegation was representatives ro the Black Lives Matter organisation out of the USA. Mr David Denny went on to explain Venezuelas support in providing aid in times of disasters somewhat like that provided by Cuba, who have nurses here in Barbados providing help with the covid situation here. It was very unpleasant that the European Union was seeking to isolate a Democratic Country like Venezuela. The Indigenous people had their own Elections and was able to present their own winning Candidate to the elected Administration. It must be noted that 41% of the Members of the Venezuelan Parliament was Women.
