BARBADOS: Public Schools To Open Monday, September 21

The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training has advised that all public schools are scheduled to open on Monday, September 21.

However, the following schools will start on Tuesday, September 22, due to further adjustments which are required to be in place to meet COVID-19 Protocols:

  • St. Stephens Primary
  • St. Paul’s Primary
  • St. Martins/ Mangrove Primary
  • Half Moon Fort Primary
  • St. Matthews Primary
  • St. Philip Primary

In addition, students of St. Lukes / Brighton will be working online only, during Week 1, while Class 4 students will be working face-to-face at the St. Lukes Church Hall. Classes are scheduled to resume on Monday, September 28.

At the St. Giles Primary school, all students will be working online except those in Reception and Class 4. Reception students will be located at the Government Hill SDA church, and Class 4 students will receive online instruction from Monday to Wednesday and face-to-face classes will be held at the Barbados Community College on Thursday and Friday. Regular classes will resume on Monday, October 12. Teachers will contact parents to confirm the arrangements.

The Ministry apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks parents/guardians for their patience and cooperation.
