The Democratic Labour Party has lost yet another member.

Simon Alleyne ( pictured above ) the “Coke” from the Rum and Coke comedy team, after spending more than a decade as a member of the DLP team today resigned from the party.

He said in a brief statement: “I can confirm that I have officially resigned from the Democratic Labour Party. I am grateful for the years of service I have given to the party. But at this point, as I reflect on the years in my life, and the future of Barbados and myself, my skill sets can be better utilized elsewhere.

“ I do want to take this opportunity to wish the executive and the general council of the DLP all the best and I do hope that we continue to focus on making Barbados a better place.”

Simon Alleyne, has served as the party’s second vice president, and spokesman on health among other roles.

Simon is no doubt looking to have his ” skill sets …. better utilized elsewhere.”
