There were 34 new COVID-19 cases, 16 males and 18 females, recorded on Thursday, September 29, from the 323 tests conducted by laboratories across the island.

The cases consisted of 11 persons under the age of 18, and 23 who were 18 years and older. The number of people in isolation facilities was 26, while 182 were in home isolation.

A 90-year-old man died as a result of the virus on Thursday. As at September 29, there were 560 COVID-19 related deaths.

The laboratories conducted 765,701 tests since February 2020, and recorded 102,580 COVID-19 cases (46,401 males and 56,179 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 163,640 (71.6 per cent of the eligible population).  

The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 154,665 (57.1 per cent of the total population or 67.7 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.

Thirty new COVID-19 cases, 10 males and 20 females, were recorded on Tuesday, September 28, from the 309 tests conducted by laboratories across the island.

Of the positive cases, three persons were under the age of 18, and 27 were 18 years and older. There were 28 people in isolation facilities, while 199 were in home isolation. As at September 28, there were 559 COVID-19 related deaths.

The laboratories conducted 765,378 tests since February 2020, and recorded 102,546 COVID-19 cases (46,385 males and 56,161 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 163,636 (71.6 per cent of the eligible population).

Twenty-eight people, 13 males and 15 females, tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, September 27, from the 362 tests conducted by laboratories across the island.

The cases comprised eight persons under the age of 18, and 20 who were 18 years and older. There were 28 people in isolation facilities, while 214 were in home isolation. As at September 27, there were 559 COVID-19 related deaths.

The laboratories conducted 765,069 tests since February 2020, and recorded 102,516 COVID-19 cases (46,375 males and 56,141 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 163,633 (71.6 per cent of the eligible population).

Barbados recorded 24 new COVID-19 cases, nine males and 15 females, from the 256 tests conducted at laboratories across the island on Saturday, September 24. Of the positive cases, seven persons were under the age of 18, and 17 were 18 years and older.

There were 32 people in isolation facilities, while 254 were in home isolation. No deaths were recorded yesterday, so the number of COVID-19-related deaths remains at 559.

The health laboratories have conducted 764,152 tests since February 2020 and recorded 102,436 COVID-19 cases (46,340 males and 56,096 females). Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 163,621 (71.6 per cent of the eligible population).

The virus claimed the life of a 65-year-old man on Tuesday. As at September 13, there were 559 COVID-19 related deaths.

A 69-year-old man and a 96-year-old woman passed away from the virus on Monday. As at September 12, there were 558 COVID-19 related deaths.

Barbados recorded 25 new cases of COVID-19, of which there were 11 males and 14 females, on Saturday, September 10, out of 302 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of that number, there were four persons under the age of 18, and 21 persons 18 years and older. There are now 51 persons in isolation facilities and 458 in home isolation.

No deaths were recorded, and the number of persons who died from the viral illness remains at 556.

To date the public health laboratory has carried out 759, 531 tests since February 2020, and recorded 101, 875 cases (46, 076 males and 55, 799 females) of COVID-19. A total of 51 new COVID-19 cases, 24 males and 27 females, were recorded from the 334 tests carried out on Wednesday, September 7, by laboratories across the island.

Of the positive cases, three persons were under the age of 18, and 48 were 18 years and older.

Three men, aged 87, 89 and 92, died as a result of the virus on Wednesday.

Seventy-two people, 29 males and 43 females, tested positive for COVID-19 from the 485 tests conducted on Tuesday, September 6, by laboratories across the island.

The Coroner’s Office reported seven COVID-19 related deaths within the community in the last two weeks.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported a total of 246 new COVID-19 cases, 100 males and 146 females, from the 775 tests conducted at laboratories across the island, on Thursday, August 18.

Of the positive cases, 42 persons were under the age of 18, and 204 were 18 years and older.

There were 69 people in isolation facilities, while 3,655 were in home isolation.

As at August 18, there were 529 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 747,502 tests since February 2020, and recorded 99,204 COVID-19 cases (44,842 males and 54,362 females).

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 336 new COVID-19 cases, 161 males and 175 females, from the 1,078 tests conducted on Wednesday, August 17.

The cases comprised 41 persons under the age of 18, and 295 who were 18 years and older.

There were 63 people in isolation facilities, while 3,335 were in home isolation.

As at August 17, there were 529 COVID-19-related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 746,727 tests since February 2020, and recorded 98,958 COVID-19 cases (44,742 males and 54,216 females). A total of 345 people, 144 males and 201 females, tested positive for COVID-19 from the 1,057 tests conducted on Tuesday, August 16, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases consisted of 58 persons under the age of 18, and 287 who were 18 years and older.

There were 67 people in isolation facilities, while 3,311 were in home isolation.

As at August 16, there were 525 COVID-19 related deaths.

There were 431 new COVID-19 cases, 198 males and 233 females, recorded on Monday, August 15, from the 1,201 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprised 61 persons under the age of 18, and 370 who were 18 years and older.

The number of people in isolation facilities was 70, while 3,731 were in home isolation.

Six more people succumbed to the virus; an 86-year-old man on Saturday, August 13; a 52-year-old man and a 98-year-old woman on Sunday, August 14, and a 95-year-old woman and two men, aged 73 and 85, on Monday, August 15.

As at August 15, there were 525 COVID-19 related deaths.

Barbados recorded 208 new COVID-19 cases, 82 males and 126 females, from the 663 tests carried out on Sunday, August 14, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprised 45 persons under the age of 18, and 163 who were 18 years and older.

Three people succumbed to the viral illness on Sunday – a 66-year-old man and two women, aged 78 and 96.

An 87-year-old woman passed away from the viral illness on Friday.

A 65-year-old man passed away due to the viral illness on Monday, August 8.

Additionally, the Coroner’s office reported eight COVID-19 related community deaths within the past two weeks.

There was also one death recorded yesterday, that of a 72-year-old Barbadian male.

Barbados recorded 329 new COVID-19 cases, 137 males and 192 females, from the 985 tests conducted on Thursday, July 28, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases consisted of 61 persons under the age of 18, and 268 who were 18 years and older. There number of people in isolation facilities was 63, while 2,780 were in home isolation.

A 76-year-old man passed away from the viral illness on Thursday. As at July 28, there were 492 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 727,133 tests since February 2020, and recorded 91,593 COVID-19 cases (41,698 males and 49,895 females).

A total of 330 new COVID-19 cases, 136 males and 194 females, were recorded on Wednesday, July 27, from the 894 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprised 48 persons under the age of 18, and 282 who were 18 years and older. There were 65 people in isolation facilities, while 3,171 were in home isolation.

Two men, aged 42 and 86, died from the viral illness on Wednesday. As at July 27, there were 491 COVID-19 related deaths.

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 384 new COVID-19 cases, 161 males and 223 females, from the 1,013 tests carried out on Tuesday, July 26.

Of the positive cases, 55 persons were under the age of 18, and 329 were 18 years and older. There were 64 people in isolation facilities, while 2,959 were in home isolation.

An 84-year-old woman died from the virus on Tuesday.  Additionally, the Coroner’s Office reported that there were four additional COVID-19 related deaths which occurred in the community within the past two weeks.  As at July 26, there were 489 COVID-19 related deaths.

Barbados recorded 202 new COVID-19 cases, 94 males and 108 females, on Friday, July 8, out of 666 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of that number, there were 53 persons under the age of 18, and 149 persons 18 years and older. There are now 53 people in isolation facilities and 1,589 in home isolation.

No deaths were recorded, and the number of persons who died from the viral illness remains at 478.

To date, the public health laboratory has carried out 710,449 tests since February 2020, and recorded 85,881 cases (39,294 males and 46,587 females) of COVID-19.

There were 191 new COVID-19 cases, 76 males and 115 females, recorded from the 682 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Thursday, July 7.

The cases consisted of 32 persons under the age of 18, and 159 who were 18 years and older. The number of people in isolation facilities was 51, while 1,512 were in home isolation. As at July 7, there were 478 COVID-19 related deaths.

A total of 157 new COVID-19 cases, 71 males and 86 females, were recorded on Wednesday, July 6, from the 629 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprised 26 persons under the age of 18, and 131 who were 18 years and older. The number of people in isolation facilities was 83, while 1,505 were in home isolation.

A 95-year-old partially vaccinated man passed away from the virus on Tuesday, July 5. As at July 6, there were 478 COVID-19 related deaths.

A total of 73 people, 34 males and 39 females, tested positive for COVID-19 from the 484 tests carried out on Saturday, June 18, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprised 21 persons under the age of 18 and 52 who were 18 years and older. The number of people in isolation facilities was 25, while 924 were in home isolation. One person, an 87-year-old female succumbed to the virus yesterday, bringing the number of COVID-related deaths to 472.

The public health laboratory has conducted 697,476 tests since February 2020 and recorded 82,899 COVID-19 cases (37,769 males and 45,130 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 162,534 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population).

There were 96 new cases of COVID-19, 40 males and 56 females, recorded on Friday, June 17, out of 488 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.           

Of that number, there were 29 persons under the age of 18, and 67 persons 18 years and older. There are now 23 persons in isolation facilities and 961 in home isolation. No deaths were recorded, and the number of persons who have died from the viral illness remains at 471.           

Since February 2020, the public health laboratory has carried out 696, 992 tests and recorded 82, 826 cases (37, 735 males and 45, 091 females) of COVID-19.

There were 96 new COVID-19 cases, 44 males and 52 females, recorded from the 530 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Tuesday, June 14.

Of the positive cases, 23 persons were under the age of 18, and 73 were 18 years and older. The number of people in isolation facilities was 25, while 1,078 were in home isolation.

The Coroner’s Office reported that there were three additional COVID-19 related deaths which occurred in the community within the past two weeks. Therefore, 471 COVID-19 related deaths were recorded as of June 14.

Error In Vaccination Status Of Deceased Woman

The Ministry of Health and Wellness wishes to inform the public that there was an error with respect to the vaccination status of a deceased 90-year-old woman, who passed away as a result of COVID-19 on June 8, 2022.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the lady was, in fact, fully vaccinated when she died.

Barbados recorded 192 new cases of COVID-19; 84 males and 108 females – on Tuesday, May 31. The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted a total of 767 tests.

COVID-19 Update For Monday, May 30 – 213 Cases And One Death.

A total of 213 people, 99 males and 114 females, tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, May 30, from among the 941 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of the positive cases, 57 persons were under the age of 18, and 156 were 18 years and older. There were 46 people in isolation facilities, while 1,807 were in home isolation.

An 89-year-old vaccinated female passed away from COVID-19 on May 30, bringing the number of COVID-19 related deaths to 450.

The public health laboratory has conducted 686,783 tests since February 2020, and recorded 80,654 COVID-19 cases (36,828 males and 43,826 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 162,385 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population).

COVID-19 Update For Sunday, May 29 – 117 Cases And Three Deaths.

There were 117 new COVID-19 cases, 48 males and 69 females, recorded on Sunday, May 29, from the 479 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of the positive cases, 20 persons were under the age of 18, and 97 were 18 years and older. The number of people in isolation facilities was 53, while 1,978 were in home isolation.

Three deaths were recorded yesterday, these comprised two vaccinated men aged 80 and 92 and an unvaccinated 88-year-old woman.  As of May 29, there were 449 deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 685,842 tests since February 2020, and recorded 80,441 COVID-19 cases (36,729 males and 43,712 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 162,366 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population).

COVID-19 Update For Saturday, May 28 – 118 Cases And No Deaths.

Barbados recorded 118 new cases of COVID-19; 58 males and 60 females – on Saturday, May 28. The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted a total of 554 tests.

Of this number, there were 24 persons under the age of 18, and 94 persons 18-years and older.

There are now 48 people in isolation facilities and 2, 172 in home isolation. No deaths were recorded, and the number of those who died from the virus remains at 446.

To date, the public health laboratory has carried out 685, 363 tests since February 2020, and recorded 80, 324 cases (36, 681 males and 43, 643 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for the virus, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 162, 355 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population).

A total of 168 people, 65 males and 103 females, tested positive for COVID-19 from the 796 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Friday, May 27.

The cases comprised 32 persons under the age of 18, and 136 who were 18 years and older. There were 52 in isolation facilities, while 2,391 were in home isolation.

An 84-year-old fully vaccinated male and an 83-year-old unvaccinated female died from the virus on May 27, bringing the number of deaths from the viral illness to 446.

The public health laboratory has conducted 684,811 tests since February 2020, and recorded 80,206 COVID-19 cases (36,623 males and 43,583 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 162,345 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population).

The cases consisted of 35 persons under the age of 18, and 143 who were 18 years and older. There were 61 people in isolation facilities, while 2,393 were in home isolation. As at May 26, the number of COVID-19 related deaths recorded stands at 444.

The number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded on Monday, May 23, was 334 – 148 males and 186 females. The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 1, 198 tests.

The new cases consist of 78 persons under the age of 18, and 256 who were 18 years and older. There are now 67 persons in isolation facilities and 3,363 in home isolation. Three deaths were recorded.

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 130 new COVID-19 cases, 69 females and 61 males, from the 565 tests conducted on Sunday, May 22.

Of the positive cases, 29 persons were under age 18, while 101 were 18 years and older. There were 72 persons in isolation facilities, and 3,765 in home isolation.

No deaths were recorded from the viral illness, yesterday. As at May 22, there were 440 deaths.

A total of 187 new cases – 74 males and113 females – were identified out of the 827 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Laboratory on Saturday, May 21.

The cases comprised 38 individuals under the age of 18, and 149 who were 18 years and older.

There were also three deaths on Saturday – an unvaccinated 75-year-old female, a fully vaccinated 94-year-old female, and an 83-year-old unvaccinated male.

Seventy-two persons were in isolation facilities, while 4,210 were in home isolation.

The public health laboratory has conducted 679,628 tests since February 2020, and recorded 78,919 COVID-19 cases (36,039 males and 42,880 females).  The number of lives lost to the viral illness is 440.            

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 162,237 persons (71.0 per cent of the eligible population) have received at least one dose.  To date, 152,595 individuals – 66,884 males and 85,711 females (56.3 per cent of the total population or 66.8 per cent of the eligible population) – have been fully vaccinated.  The eligible population represents those persons who are12 years and older.

A 71-year-old female who was fully vaccinated died on Friday from the virus. As at May 20, there were 437 COVID-19 related deaths.

An 82-year-old American male passed away as a result of COVID-19 on Sunday. As at May 15, there were 434 COVID-19 related deaths.

A 70-year-old vaccinated man and a 92-year-old unvaccinated woman died from the virus on Wednesday. As at May 11, there were 432 COVID-19 related deaths.

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory recorded 513 new COVID-19 cases, 232 males and 281 females, from the 1,697 tests conducted on Tuesday, May 10.

Of the positive cases, 130 persons were under the age of 18, and 383 were 18 years and older. The number of people in isolation facilities was 109, while 4,174 were in home isolation. As at May 10, there were 430 COVID-19 related deaths.

A total of 598 people, 263 males and 335 females, tested positive for COVID-19 from the 2,083 tests carried out on Monday, May 9, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases consisted of 173 persons under the age of 18, and 425 who were 18 years and older. There were 110 people in isolation facilities, while 4,295 were in home isolation. As at May 9, there were 430 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 662,810 tests since February 2020, and recorded 74,454 COVID-19 cases (34,096 males and 40,358 females).

There were 264 new COVID-19 cases,121 males and 143 females, recorded on Sunday, May 8, from the 825 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprised 54 persons under the age of 18, and 210 who were 18 years and older. There were 113 people in isolation facilities, while 3,852 were in home isolation.

Tests carried out by the Coroner’s Office have revealed that over the last six weeks, an additional 24 persons in the community had died with the virus. As at May 8, there were 430 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 660,727 tests since February 2020, and recorded 73,856 COVID-19 cases (33,833 males and 40,023 females).

Barbados recorded 394 new COVID-19 cases, 180 males and 214 females, on Saturday, May 7, from the 1,320 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of the positive cases, 95 persons were under the age of 18, and 299 were 18 years and older. There were 106 people in isolation facilities, while 3,612 were in home isolation.

Three persons, a 71-year-old vaccinated woman; an 83-year-old unvaccinated man, and a 91-year-old vaccinated man, passed away from the virus on Saturday. As at May 7, there were 406 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 659,902 tests since February 2020, and recorded 73,592 COVID-19 cases (33,712 males and 39,880 females).

There were 547 new COVID-19 cases, 223 males and 324 females, recorded on Wednesday, April 20, from the 1,645 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprised 101 persons under the age of 18, and 446 who were 18 years and older. The number of people in isolation facilities was 71, while 3,353 were in home isolation. As at April 20, there were 386 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 637,232 tests since February 2020, and recorded 66,317 COVID-19 cases (30,554 males and 35,763 females).

A total of 674 people tested positive for COVID-19, 313 males and 361 females, on Tuesday, April 19, from the 1,878 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The positive cases consisted of 130 persons under the age of 18, and 544 who were 18 years and older. There were 84 people in isolation facilities, while 2,966 were in home isolation. As at April 19, there were 386 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has conducted 635,587 tests since February 2020, and recorded 65,770 COVID-19 cases (30,331 males and 35,439 females).

Barbados recorded 164 new COVID-19 cases, 65 males and 99 females, from the 585 tests carried out on Sunday, April 17, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of the positive cases, 20 persons were under the age of 18, and 144 were 18 years and older. There were 85 people in isolation facilities, while 3,133 were in home isolation.

An 86-year-old woman and a 91-year-old man, who were both unvaccinated, passed away from the viral illness on Sunday. As at April 17, there were 386 COVID-19 related deaths.

A total of 282 new COVID-19 cases (122 males and 160 females) were recorded by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Saturday, April 16, from the 996 tests conducted.

The positive cases consist of 57 persons under the age of 18, and 225 who were 18 years and older. The number of people in isolation facilities was 76, while 3,230 were in home isolation.

An unvaccinated 85-year-old woman died from the virus, on Saturday. As at April 16, there were 384 COVID-19 related deaths.

Barbados recorded 171 new COVID-19 cases, 82 males and 89 females, from the 582 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Friday, April 15.

Of the positive cases, 35 persons were under the age of 18, and 136 were 18 years and older.

The number of people in isolation facilities was 78, while 3,664 were in home isolation.

Two women, aged 84 and 94, died from the virus on Friday. They were both fully vaccinated.

Two women, aged 80 and 86, died from the virus on Tuesday. They were both unvaccinated. As at April 12, the number of COVID-19 related deaths stood at 381.

Elderly Woman Succumbs To COVID-19

The COVID-19 death toll has climbed to 381, following the death of an 86-year-old woman.

She was unvaccinated and passed away on Tuesday, April 12.

An 80-year-old woman is the latest person to pass away from COVID-19.

She was unvaccinated and succumbed to the viral illness today, Tuesday, April 12. Her death brings the number of casualties from the virus to 380.

A total of 261 new cases – 116 males and 145 females – were identified out of the 1,092 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Laboratory on Saturday, April 9.

The cases comprised 51 individuals under the age of 18, and 210 who were 18 years and older. There were 86 persons in isolation facilities, and 2,437 others in home isolation.

Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados has recorded 62,214 COVID-19 cases (28,777 males and 33,437 females) from 624,286 tests. The number of lives lost to the viral illness is 379.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 161,353 persons (70.6 per cent of the eligible population) have received at least one dose.

Two Men Die From COVID-19; Toll Reaches 379

Two male residents of the Geriatric Hospital have died from COVID-19.

One of them, aged 72, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, while the other, who was 78 years old, succumbed to the viral illness on Thursday, April 7.  They were both fully vaccinated. Barbados has now recorded 379 COVID-19 deaths.
