The Grantley Adams International Airport will remain closed until noon, Wednesday, April 14, due to the ongoing ash fall resulting from the eruption of the La Soufriere volcano in St. Vincent.

During this period of airport closure, access to the airport will be limited to authorised, essential airport personnel.

Passengers who have been affected as a result of this closure are asked to contact their respective airlines for alternative flight arrangements.

The Port of Bridgetown and the Administrative Building, Cube Blue, will be closed to business tomorrow, Monday, April 12, due to the impact of ash fall from the La Soufriere volcano, in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

During the closure, Barbados Port Inc. (BPI), will be undertaking an industrial cleaning of the buildings, equipment and roadways necessary to return the port to a safe operating environment.

Only authorised essential personnel will be allowed access to the port during this time. The BPI sincerely apologises for this inconvenience and will issue further updates on the resumption of operations, as conditions permit.
