Citizens of the UK, France and Germany, who were stranded here since the country was locked down due to the COVID-19 pandemic left the country early yesterday morning on a one-way flight to the United Kingdom (UK) on British Airways.
The flight departed the Grantley Adams International Airport at 8:45 a.m.
The curfew was imposed from March 28 until April 14, 2020 since been extended to May 31st 2020
It currently is in place between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m and only essential workers are allowed to leave their homes during those hours . They should carry proof of their employment at all times.
The UK government had also announced it had secured two charter flights in May to repatriate more than 300 British travellers stranded in Argentina due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The UK Embassy in Argentina, officials said that around 320 British travellers stranded in Argentina would be able to return home on two flights, scheduled for May 7 and 12, departing Buenos Aires Ezeiza International Airport..
Argentina has been in lockdown since March 20, with quarantine restrictions now in place until at least May 10. Commercial flights have been suspended until at least September 1, the government confirmed via decree this week.
