A 70-year-old Barbadian man with comorbidities is the latest COVID-19 fatality, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 43.
He passed away on Friday, April 2, after spending 29 days at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility, 19 of which he spent on a ventilator.
Additionally, three women tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. They were identified from among 346 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
Meanwhile, 20 people recovered from the virus and were released from isolation. The number of persons in isolation is 105.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to date is 3,668 – 1,766 females and 1,902 males, and 3,526 people have recovered. Since February last year, the public health laboratory has conducted 142,539 tests.
During the first phase of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 63,738 vaccinations – 26,344 men and 37,394 women – have been administered.
