Fewer groups was on parade this year at the Remembrance Day Parade held today Sunday, November 8, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The lives lostof Military veterans were applauded in a celebration to Honor them at our annual Remembrance Day ceremony in our National Heroes square.
Those there to pay tribute were the Governor General Dame Sandra Mason, Prime Minister Mia Mottley, new Chief Justice Patterson Cheltenham; Opposition Leader Bishop Joseph Atherley, United States Ambassador Linda Taglialatela were among the attenddes.
Besides witnessing the very small parade which this year comprised of a very much scaled down Barbados Regiment and a Band o the Royal Barbados Police Forcein the procession but also laid wreaths at the cenotaph in honour of the fallen soldiers.
Only a handul off viewers came out to witness the Parade as they was encouraged to observe COVID-19 protocols and view the event from 8:00 a.m. on the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation’s TV8, its Facebook page at facebook.com/cbcbarbados, and on the Barbados Government Information Service’s Facebook page at facebook.com/gisbarbados.
