The Democratic Labour Party has lost yet another member. Following Rodney Grant and George Connelly both leaving the DLP and joining the Barbados Labour Party.
Simon Alleyne the “Coke” from the Rum and Coke comedy team, after spending more than a decade as a member of the DLP team today resigned from the party.
He said in a brief statement: “I can confirm that I have officially resigned from the Democratic Labour Party. I am grateful for the years of service I have given to the party. But at this point, as I reflect on the years in my life, and the future of Barbados and myself, my skill sets can be better utilized elsewhere.
“ I do want to take this opportunity to wish the executive and the general council of the DLP all the best and I do hope that we continue to focus on making Barbados a better place.”
Simon Alleyne, has served as the party’s second vice president, and spokesman on health among other roles.
Simon is no doubt looking to have his ” skill sets …. better utilized elsewhere.”
