COVID-19 Update: 10 New Cases, 18 Recovered

Barbados recorded 10 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, March 30.

The four men and six women were identified from among 369 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Eighteen people recovered from the virus and were released from isolation. There are now 134 persons in isolation.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded in Barbados since March 2020 are 3, 652 – 1, 757 females and 1, 895 males – while 3, 475 people have recovered from the virus. Forty-two people have died from COVID-19.

So far, the public health laboratory has conducted 140, 874 tests. To date, 63, 715 vaccinations – 26, 322 men and 37, 383 women – have been administered as part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19.

BARBADOS: COVID-19 Update: 8 New Cases, 13 Recovered, 1 Death

The number of COVID-19 deaths rose by one on Monday, March 29. A 70-year-old St. Lucian woman with an underlying condition passed away at the Harrison Point Isolation Facility after spending 21 days in isolation, 16 of them on a ventilator.

Her death brings to 42 the number of persons who have succumbed to the virus.

Additionally, there were eight new positive cases of COVID-19 – four men and four women – recorded on Monday, from among the 490 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Thirteen people recovered and were discharged from isolation.  There are now 152 persons in isolation.

The island has recorded 3,642 – 1,751 females and 1,891 males – and 3,457 people have recovered since the advent of the first COVID-19 case in March 2020. 

So far, the public health laboratory has conducted 140,505 tests.

Since the official announcement of the end of the first phase of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, a small number of vaccinations were administered to “shut-ins” by a mobile team. As a result, the total number of vaccinations done to date is 63,711 – 26,330 men and 37,381 women.
