Ten new cases of COVID-19, five males and five females, have been identified by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. The facility conducted 1,428 tests on Wednesday, August 4.
There are 93 people in insolation.
To date, 100,091 first doses have been administered under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19; while 76,965 persons (28.4 per cent of the population) have received their second dose and are fully vaccinated.
Since March 2020, the island has recorded 4,443 confirmed cases (2,158 females, 2,285 males) of the viral illness, and 48 deaths. A total of 224,225 tests have been carried out by the laboratory since February last year.

COVID-19 Update: 11 New Cases, 101 In Isolation, Over 100,000 First Doses

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory reported 11 new COVID-19 cases, five men and six women. The number of tests carried out on Tuesday, August 3, is 1,233.
There are 101 people in isolation.
The National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19 has reached an important milestone after administering 100,017 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 76,665 persons have received second doses and are fully vaccinated. This figure represents 28.3 per cent of the population.
Barbados has recorded 4,433 confirmed cases of the virus (2,153 females and 2,280 males) since the start of the pandemic in March last year. Forty-eight people have died from the viral illness.
To date, the public health laboratory has conducted 222,797 tests.
