Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley will join a list of leaders who will briefly address the virtual Climate Ambition Summit 2020, tomorrow, Saturday, December 12, which will mark the fifth anniversary of the Paris Agreement.
The United Kingdom, United Nations and France are co-hosting the Summit, in partnership with Chile and Italy. This Summit will provide a platform for leaders to announce their ambitious new commitments under the Paris Agreement.
It is an opportunity for leaders to bring forward new commitments that will put the world firmly on a greener, more resilient, and sustainable path and on track to deliver global net-zero emissions and limit global temperature rise to 1.5C.
There will be opening addresses, beginning at 9:00 a.m., from UN Secretary General António Guterres; UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson; French President Emmanuel Macron; Chilean President Sebastián Piñera; and Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.
