The small business sector and its importance to the island’s economic landscape will come into sharp focus next week, when the Small Business Association (SBS) hosts Small Business Week the Virtual Edition.
Under the theme: The Era of Digital Disruption – Thinking Beyond the Box, the activities get under way with a church service on Sunday, September 20, at St. George Parish Church, starting at 9:15 a.m. and carried live on Facebook.com/Barbados. Minister of Energy, Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Kerrie Symmonds, will be in attendance.
On Tuesday, September 22, Minister Symmonds and former Director of Economics at the Caribbean Development Bank, Dr. Justin Ram, will address the State of the Sector Virtual Conference, starting at 10:00 a.m. The conference will be streamed live and on the SBA’s Facebook page and participants may register by using the link tiny.cc/stosec2.
There will be a Youth Forum on Wednesday, September 24, carried live on the SBA’s Facebook.com/SBABarbados.
The activities will culminate with the annual awards ceremony on Friday, September 25, at 4:00 p.m. Minister Symmonds will present the Minister’s Award during the virtual ceremony streamed on Facebook.com/SBABarbados.
