The Electoral and Boundaries Commission (EBC) has held four training sessions for election workers on the COVID-19 Protocols to be deployed on Election Day, Wednesday, January 19.

The sessions, which were held, yesterday, Saturday, January 15, at the Gymnasium, Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex took the workers through the protocols issued by the COVID Monitoring Unit in preparation for their functions at polling stations across the island.

During the training, electoral official Roslyn Springer informed the COVID-19 Election Workers that they would be given all necessary equipment and supplies to carry out their role safely.

She noted that they must ensure that all persons have their temperature taken and wear their face masks when standing in line and entering the polling stations.

The workers will also notify the presiding officer of voters needing assistance. The workers who will be required to arrive at the polling stations no later than 5.30 a.m. on polling day were reminded of the need to dress appropriately for work.

All workers must have their Declaration of Secrecy Forms on hand for presentation to the Presiding Officers at their various polling stations.
