     24th July 2017 - Bridgetown, Barbados.

Thousands march in unison.

Thousands of Barbadians estimated to be over twenty thousand marched the streets in the capital Bridgetown in support of a joint march being staged by the island’s four main trade unions and the Barbados Private Sector Association.

The Barbados Workers Union, the National Union of Public Workers, the Barbados Union of Teachers, the Barbados Secondary Teachers Union marched off from Queen’s Park just after 10.30 this morning ( Monday 24 July 2017 ) .

Several businesses closed their operations for the first part of the day to allow workers to join the march aimed at pressuring the Government to return to the negotiating table to discuss recent austerity measures outlined in the 2017/2018 Budget.

Several prominent businessmen were also seen in attendance giving support as they too would have been  at the receiving end both personally as well as their businesses through government austerity measures. —-  SEE PHOTOS BELOW……
